The MA connoisseur show by Central Saint Martins at London Fashion Week, began on a staid note, as the voice of the late, great, Alexander McQueen, echoed around the darkened catwalk tent.

McQueen complicated at Central Saint Martins and was himself an MA connoisseur one of the majority ingenious, confrontational and overwhelming pattern minds the conform college has produced.

McQueen in cinema David Koma, MA Graduate of Central St Martins awarded Weeds in between the flowering plants at Christopher Kane London Fashion Week: Central Saint Martins School"s out

Recalling his tyro years, McQueen pronounced since he had come from the East End, drill had not just been tip of the agenda, but: "fashion was my passion and St Martins was the place to go."

McQueen, who had formerly been operative in Italy for the likes of Romeo Gigli, and on Savile Row for the Royal tailors, Anderson & Sheppard, in between others, said: "I essentially went there to teach, but finished up you do an MA."

Explaining his love of CSM, he pronounced he favourite the leisure of expression. "What I favourite was I was surrounded by like-minded people. Central St Martins showed me there were people out there similar to me."

Sadly the "me" in that equation is no more.

There was a clever mood of sculptural tailoring and minimalism in between the twenty-two MA connoisseur collections.

My dual personal favourites were Matthew Hardings unconventional Delphic goddesses, in jellyfish-like clouds of white pleating; and the Legoland weave experiments engineered in multicolored patchwork by Martina Spetlova.

The Harrods Design Prize, value 5,000, formerly won by Christopher Kane and David Koma, in between others, was widely separated in between Jackie J.S.Lee and Lilly Heine, whilst the L"Oral Professionnel endowment was since to Rok Hwang.
